The hiker community just lost a good friend. For those of you who had stopped through the years at the Standing Bear Hostel, you will have met Curtis. He and his girlfriend Maria were the wonderful caretakers of this gorgeous historic place. Curtis’ kindness was a welcome respite from the days of rain on the trail. He was a sweet father and a good neighbor. We are all very shocked by his passing.
